With over 625 species of birds documented, Texas is the birding capital of America. A confluence of three major migratory paths and an amazing diversity of habitat-types make Texas birding especially rich in variety. And Texas has its share of resident birds, as well as species from Mexico to add to the count.

Five eventful days will take us from Fort Worth to Port Arthur, with stops ranging from historical to cultural to natural. Including the cosmopolitan city of Dallas, the American rose capital of Tyler (located in our Piney Woods Region), and a swamp full of gators!

From the Hill Country’s scenic vistas to the Gulf Coast’s stretches of sand, each of the 11 counties along the trail has its own special flavor.

From Galveston to Granbury, we'll spend five days winding from Gulf Coast seaports to the aptly named Prairies and Lakes Region, with a day-long sojourn in Houston, the largest city in Texas.

Join us for three days of fun, from Amarillo to Gainesville. You'll take in a slew of Texan heritage, including the famous roadside attraction Cadillac Ranch, the stunning Palo Duro Canyon and a hardware store that seems frozen in time since 1885.
