Texas Music
Lee Ann Womack. Ray Benson. The Old 97’s. Some of the country’s most popular artists and bands are from Texas. In fact, the state’s beautiful scenery and laid back lifestyle have inspired an eclectic playlist of country and western, rock ‘n’ roll, Tejano, blues, jazz and gospel. Although named for a famous Australian outlaw, Reckless Kelly's outlaw spirit is focused on rocking out, not breaking the law.
It's that rebellious attitude that allows this group of five to blur the musical lines between rock and country with such ease.
Lead by the Braun brothers, Cody and Willy, Reckless Kelly creates harmonies powered by guitar and accented with notes of fiddle,
mandolin and harmonica, just to name a few. It's a sound that, in the 11 years the band has been together, has attracted famous
fans like Steve Earle and Joe Ely as well as a fiercely loyal following here in Texas and across the western United States.
Though the Austin based band spends a lot of time touring and supporting the local community, they recently released a new album,
Bulletproof, available in stores now.
