of a young insurance agent’s dream. F.Z. Bishop envisioned a model town, surrounded by farm tracts, and he made a deal for 2,300 acres, bisected by the rails of the St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railroad. By the end of 1912, the town had grown
