Established 1890, originally called Floyd City. Seat of Floyd County in center of productive farm area, headquarters for large electric co-op, cotton ginning and shipping point. Check with the chamber of commerce for information on the Circle Dot Ranch, which serves cowboy breakfasts and suppers on edge of Caprock Canyon.
